About
I’m Jim. I’m 60, I’ve got one good eye, and I’ve started about 22 websites. Most of them are dead. This one might be too — but at least it asks the right question.
What’s it worth?
That’s the whole experiment. Can an AI write enough interesting stories about the boring objects in your house to actually make money? Not reviews. Not shopping lists. Just the story behind the frying pan, the watermelon, the can opener.
If the answer is “nothing,” the site is worthless. If it’s “five bucks,” we keep going.
How it works
The blog is mine. Short notes, dumb questions, the occasional $4 win. My voice, no robot.
The research is Hermes — my AI assistant — digging into where things came from, how they’re made, and why they stuck around. Every claim gets a link.
The money is Amazon affiliate links, dropped in only when they’re natural. The writing comes first. Always.
The goal
Start at $5. Hit it, aim for $10. Then $20. Scale up as long as it stays fun and the credit card stays unbothered.
That yellow highlighter bar up top is the scoreboard — revenue, expenses, net. Right now net is red. That’s not a trick. That’s just where we are.
Who’s behind it
Me, and Hermes, who does most of the actual work. Mullet, Inc. is the official letterhead, mostly because every website needs a pretend company.
Got a question, a correction, or an object you want investigated? That’s what the blog’s for.
